Group: Title research

Our plan for whom we would like to include in our credits during the opening sequence, we need to change the order of them but this is who we will credit:

·      A [insert sponsor here] Film – We have chosen to have the film be made by Anchor Bay Films.
·      Directed By: James Wan
·      Screenplay By: Diane Johnson,Scott Spiegel
·      Produced By: Alex McDowell, Laurel Parfitt, Danielle Booker
·      Executive Producer: Scott Spiegel
·      Co-Producer:Robert Shaye
·      Line Producer: Jeanette Brill
·      Director of Photography: John. R. Leonetti
·      Production Designer: Kave Quinn
·      Film Editor: Kirk. M. Morri
·      Costume Designer: Keith Madden- Women in Black costume designer
·      Hair & Make-up Designer:Shaun Smith- worked on Cabin In The Woods
·      Make-up & Prosthetic Design By:Rich Krussell- Worked on Sinister
·      Visual Effects Supervisor: John MacGillivray
·      Casting: Stephanie Holbrook
·      Key actors: Eloise Martin, Saoirse Ronan, Ty Simpkins, Brian White, Anna Hutchinson, Hannah Rayner

On re-evaluation we have realised that there are too many people to credit so we have shortened it to:

·       Anchor Bay Films Presents
·      Key actors: Eloise Martin, Hannah Rayner, Brian White
·      Produced By: Alex McDowell, Laurel Parfitt, Danielle Booker
·      Film Editor: Kirk. M. Morri
·      Directed By: James Wan
·      TITLE OF FILM: Possessed

Group: Survey Feedback

We conducted a survey to find out what our target audience thought of our opening sequence plan and the supernatural horror genre itself. We created the questionnaire on www.surveymonkey.com, sending a few to people online and handing the majority out on paper. We managed to receive 50 replies from the survey and here are our results:

Question 1:
The majority of people thought that our opening was scary. No one thought it was boring which was good feedback. It meant that me managed to engage out audience and keep them interested.

Question 2:

It was essential that our narrative was understandable. Luckily majority of our audience clearly understood the plot and found it engaging.

Question 3:
DOES THE NARRATIVE MAKE YOU WANT TO WATCH ON?

Every person we asked said that they were captivated enough to continue watching.

Question 4:
Question 5:
Question 6:
WHAT WHERE THE LAST 2 HORROR FILMS THAT YOU WATCHED?

Our mistake was that we asked quite a few people who didn't enjoy horror films meaning that quite a lot of people couldn't remember what the last two films were. Those who did, supernatural horror was the most common and popular sub-genre choice.

Group: Make-Up

Laurel created Eloise's make-up reading for the shoot, with white and black face paint. It was influenced by The Sinister make-Up by Rich Krussell.

Group: Rough Cut and Feedback

FEEDBACK:
-The props used are very effective. For example the cranes create a very eerie and creepy atmosphere. The blood used looked very realistic and gory.
-The suicide section with blood was shot and edited very well. The fast cutting rate is very effective and the distorted and blurry shots make the blood appeal very realistic.
-ECU shot tear very effective makes audience feel sympathetic towards girl
-The swish pan transition revealing the supernatural girl was very fluent and effective
-The overlays make the opening unique and adds

Improvements
-Change the order of shots when Hannah is reading the article. They don't flow as well as they could.
-Jane the dark figure needs to be more shocking. Sometimes she is just in the shot so it isn't surprising. Try to create more scare factor.
-Continuity editing needs to be improved. For example she picks up the knife at the wrong.
-Organise and include titles.
- Make sure the lights are seen turning off.
