What are the strengths of your film?
-Highly creative and entertaining.
-Symmetrical character blocking and simultaneous movement made the film stylised.
-The non diegetic soundtrack was used to effectively create and build tension and comedy.
- Added in sound affects were used well and all sounded realistic
-A variety of camera angles were used.
-The narrative was very clear.
What targets would you set yourself for the next film making task- the film opening?
Some errors to fix in continuity which can be fixed by re-editing. For example, when Polly and Eloise are walking around the table, the POV shot needed to be cut in sooner.
Continuity of lighting needs to be improved because at one point we needed to change camera and the lighting and quality is completely different.
How can you use ideas from your location reccie at Wilderness wood to feed into your own location?
We need to physically go to our location and take some pictures and some similar angles that we want to use in our horror opening sequence. We also learnt that it is vital to do a risk assessment of a location and fill in a call sheet. After visting wilderness woods we have noticed what advantages and disadvantages there are.
Advantages:
- There weren't any people walking around to interput the filming
-It is a conventional location which creates an eerie atmosphere
Disadvantages
- When filming outside you have to consider the weather, so if it rains it could be difficult to film and keep the equipment dry and safe
-lighting can easily change from shot to shot so continuity may be lost
- While filming background noise from animals may be recorded when not wanted
- You can't put equipment down anywhere that is definitely safe as braches could fall onto it or it could fall down a hill.
-It can be quite a hazardous area due to tree stumps and hills etc.
